Singing from Scratch- 27th June 2008
Nine school choirs spent the day from 10 until 2 (with a lunch break) rehearsing a series of songs such as The Hippopotamus and Skeleton Stomp then at 2pm they gave a concert. Each school had prepared a song and these were performed among the six they had learnt from scratch. The sound of 360 children singing together in this resonant building was quite breathtaking. Congratulations should be given to Gillian Dibden, Philip Vivash, Liz Cooper and the other organisers.
The schools taking part were Beechwood, Castleview, Holy Family, Marish, Montem, Our Lady of Peace, St Anthony’s, Western House, and Wexham Court.
